Ziro Tourism – A Low Budget Tourism ???

You have heard about many tourism like Space Tourism, Eco Tourism, Medical Tourism etc, but heard first time about Ziro Tourism? You might be thinking it is a low budget or zero budget tourism but it’s not true. Ziro is a small town situated in Arunachal Pradesh.

Ziro has now become a major crowd puller in Arunachal Pradesh.  115 km from the Capital City Itanagar, stands a beautiful and alluring hill station at a height of 1500 meters above the sea level.  This town is situated in Lower Subansiri District, famous for World Heritage Site, has been pulling tourist all over the world.  In addition, it is one of the Oldest Town in Arunachal Pradesh. This March do not forget to plan, as the cool weather is going to take you to a complete different world.  Ziro Tourism is famous for its Pine Clans surrounded by rice fields.

It is home for Apatani Tribes and this tribe is way different from other tribes in terms of  living and cultivation. Unlike the Nomads, this tribe do not change their habitats. The tribe initially was famous for their facial tattoos, but now it seems this custom is seen disappearing.

This March do not forget to witness the MYOKO RITUALS, a festival that is celebrated till the end of the month. The ritual is celebrated for the fertility and the prosperity of the beings. They also wish for strong ties and bonds of the people of Ziro. The locals believe in outer forces and non human things behind the successful running of this universe. The ritual consist of slaughtering chickens and pigs and offering the locals. If you visit Ziro without witnessing Myoko Ritual, the journey of Arunachal Pradesh will be still incomplete.


The town also hosts Dree Festival from 4th to 7th July, where animals are sacrificed to please God and Goddess in order to prevent the region from famine. A few kilometer away, you can even visit the famous Shiva Lingam, an attraction for many devotees.



Tawang often pronounced as Dawang, draped around breath taking scenic beauty, stands at a height of about 3048m. The city is a home for beautiful monasteries and significant for the Buddhist monks. In addition, this is the birth place of the Dalai Lama. A visit to the beautiful Tipi Orchid Harmony is a must for the nature lovers.


Roing is located in Dibang Valley and has become a very important place of attraction for the tourism. Idu Mishi and Adi the local tribes live in this town. Tourist carrying interest in nature, archaeology and adventure is going to fall in love with this place. Moreover, the prime attractions that one must visit includes Mehao Wild Life Sanctuary, Mehao Lake, Sally Lake, Mayudia Mountain Pass which is usually covered with snow in winters.



The Capital City of Arunachal Pradesh houses magnificent flora and fauna like Himalayan Black Bear, Antelopes, Langurs, Porcupines, Goral and many more. You can find more than 400 species of  bird here, hence it is famous for bird watching. You can visit Itanagar Wild Life Sanctuary, Ita Fort,  The State Museum, Ganga Lake, Polo Park and many more. Polo Park gives you a flavor of flora being a Botanic Garden.  Mesmerize yourself in the scenic beauty of lavish green forest and orchid farms in Ganga Lake.



Bomdila is complete yes for all the adventure hikers and trekkers. The panoramic view of the lofty ranges of eastern Himalaya is just out of this world. At an altitude of  2530m above the sea level, attracts numerous adventure seekers.  Best time to visit here is April to October to view the Himalayan terrain with snow covered mountains.  You can also visit Buddhist monasteries or Gompas too.


Flow down to Bhalukpon to experience the white water river rafting  and river angling. These two activities are the prime tourist attractions here.  Apart from water activity, you can also engross yourself in trekking or hiking. Visit the Pakhui Game Sanctuary  and Tipi  Ochidarium which host more than 2600 orchids from 80 different Orchid species. Also add the world famous Kaziranga National Park , the home for Rhinoceros and  Pakhui Wildlife Sanctuary.



Visit the third largest National Park in India in terms of area, the Namdapha National Park having altitude from 200m to 4500m above the sea level. This park is situated in the district of  Changlang, a place to experience some trilling moments of your life. Furthermore, it is known for the largest protected area in the Eastern Himalayas nearby to the borders of  Myanmar. It habitats the four big cat species – Clouded Leopards, Common Leopards, Snow Leopards and Tigers. Other habitats includes Asiatic Black Bears, Wolves, Dholes, Elephants etc.
