Are You Traveling Without …. Read This Before You Travel !!!

Ooh Damn! I Forgot ….

A little extra care and alertness will always make traveling happy and light and let you enjoy to the core. It’s always in the mind but when you open your luggage at the hotel, ooops you forgot!!! Let’s travel quickly about the extra care and alertness you need to keep in mind while traveling.

  1. Making A list Before Traveling

Okay I know we are not in school anymore but it helps. Always make a list of things which is essential and try to make it as tight as possible. Desires and essential list should be made separately which will give an idea regarding the luggage capacity. It’s the best way to start!

  1. Most Important

Do not leave your place until you have packed your passport, travel documents, cash, debit/credit card. Check these items before you step out of the house.

  1. Don’t forget the first aid kit

Headaches, fever, an upset stomach, allergies etc sounds iccky with holidays. Some countries limit medicines to prescription only. Better carry a small first aid kit than to board early to your hometown.

  1. Weather Forecast

Before you even plan a vacation, check the weather if it is pleasant for traveling. In case, if you are on different purpose, make sure you carry appropriate clothing and items. Don’t let the weather ruin the purpose of visit.

  1. Valuables On One Side

Set aside the expensive items in your hand bag or hotel locker. I’m sure you don’t want to lose your DSLR, cash, jwelleries etc. Check each time you leave a particular place or hotel.

  1. Roll Bundles

Rolling your cloths is better option than keeping it straight fold. Rolling will give fair amount of space for other stuffs and will keep your cloths wrinkle free.

  1. Extra Pair

Keep one extra pair of cloths in your handbag in case you lose your luggage or accidentally you mess up with cloths while traveling. People who catches cold must always carry a jacket or sweater specially during the journey.

  1. Limit your liquids

It’s heartbreaking when the airport security asks you to remove the perfumes, water bottle, lotions etc from the handbag. Avoid too much of liquid items in your luggage too. The leakage can ruin your cloths, accessories and your mood, the day you saved and awaited the most for.

  1. Skip the shoes

Girls I know it’s little difficult to gulp. Curb your shoes with maximum 2-3, as it occupies lot of space.

  1. Save bag space for all your holiday purchases

And there goes the list…your friends, family and your BAE. Always have room for souvenir and the said list than to listen for complaints for lifetime. Whether its duty free goods or holiday mementos, it’s inevitable that you’ll be bringing more back home with you than when you left.

  1.  Leave Behind

Few accessories are important but no need to be packed as they are provided by the hotels. It will save you space too unless you are very conscious about it. Toothbrush, toothpaste, towels, shampoos etc are few things that are already available in the hotel. Let them stay at home.

Do No Chew Tulsi – Its Harmful For Teeth !!!

TULSI IN MY CULTURE

Being an Indian and from a Hindu family, I have been always told to have 5 leaves of Tulsi (Ocimum tenuiflorum, Holy Basil) a day.  Since my childhood, I have learned that it is very important plant culturally and herbally. Indian culture is too huge, diversified, deep deep inside. Right from language to religion to music to cuisine, it defers after every 50 km. This holy plant is one very small part of it yet I can write pages and pages about it.

No Hindu festival, worships, prayers, marriages can ever proceed with leaves of Tulsi. It is a Sacred Plant and also believed to be avatar of Goddess Laxmi. It got its name from Tulasi Devi, who is one of Lord’s Krishna  eternal consorts. There are two types of plants, Rama Tulsi with large green leaves and the other Shyama Tulsi with dark green leaves usually worshiped to Lord Hanuman. Did you know, there is a ceremony called Tulasi Vivaah, where Tulasi is married to Lord Krishna !

Most of the Hindu Family has a this plant in the house.  The seeds, stems, leaves and even the soil is too considered to be Holy.

It has diversified healing properties and the extracts are used in ayurvedic remedies like headaches, cold, fever, stomach disorders, heart disease, malaria etc. In addition, it is believed that it promotes longevity. It is therefore regarded as ADAPTOGEN or Anti-Stress Agent.

DO NO CHEW TULSI

Chewing Tulsi leaves is considered as disrespectful act  being wife of Lord Vishnu. According to the botanist, it contains high amount of Mercury and may cause harm to teeth if raw mercury touches the teeth. You can use leaves either in powdered  or juice form. You can use the fresh leaves in herbal tea, panchamrut, with ghee etc. In conclusion, please avoid chewing Holy Leaves.

BULLET BABA / OM BANNA TEMPLE

FEW TOURIST VISIT OUT OF FEAR AND FEW OUT OF CURIOSITY- WHATS COULD BE YOUR REASON?

Here is one interesting place(temple) one should visit if you are planning to visit Rajasthan, India. 50 km from Jodhpur is a village called Chotila in Paloi District where few people visit out of fear and some out of curiosity. This temple called as Bullet Baba Temple or Om Banna Temple.

If you don’t visit Bullet Baba Temple, you might meet an accident ! Strange right? The nearby villagers always visit this temple before traveling to any place. The story goes back to 1988, when Om Singh Rathore was riding his bike “Royal Enfield Bullet 350 cc” and met with an accident. His bike got hit by a tree and died on the spot.

Next day, the police brought his bike at the police station for investigation but  the bike went missing. The bike was found on the same spot where Om Singh Rathore died on the accident point. Once again the police took the bike, emptied the fuel tank, chained it at the police station. Surprisingly, the bike went missing again and was found at the accident point. The locals were quite shocked to know about the incident of bike missing and finding it at accident point. Later, they were convinced about a divine power behind it.

From that day, the bike is worshiped just like any other God or Goddesses. You can find a priest, people remove shoes before entering the temple, flowers prayers money is also offered in the temple. The bike and a photo of Om Singh Rathore is kept in a closed glass where one can easily see and worship. People also offer alcohol on the fulfillment of their wishes. So what could be your reason to visit this place – fear or curiosity ?

THIS… THIS ONE PLACE BEFORE I DIE

When you know swimming you show off a little. Everyone flaunts if they know a bit, so do I. Non-swimmers, here is one place where you can proudly float. Not joking dude, it’s true. DEAD SEA is one of the saltiest water body on the earth and the intense salt concentration makes the density of water 1.24 kg/liter, making easier for humans to float. It’s even said that if you try to drown someone, it’s hard, due the salt concentration. But then why lifeguards at this tourist destination? Though it’s easy to float facing the sky, but if you are non-swimmer and if you accidentally flip with you back facing sky and your mouth in water, it becomes extremely laborious to turn around on your own. Plus swallowing a lot of salt water can destroy your heart and kidney.
